    Ali Kitabi

I build and improve software for businesses where technology has to support real operations, remain understandable, and keep working as the business changes.

For more than 25 years, my work has spanned software architecture, custom applications, Microsoft .NET and Azure, operational platforms, modernization, integrations, and AI systems. Today I lead Dream Beyond's technology direction, research, and product work with a focus on durable software and practical business outcomes.

    Technical focus

The areas where I spend most of my time

These capabilities connect architecture and engineering decisions to the business systems people depend on every day.

    Software Architecture

Designing systems around clear business rules, maintainable boundaries, observable operating state, and long-term changeability.

    AI Systems & Agents

Applying AI to real workflows with deliberate authority, human approval, evaluation, security, and production controls.

    .NET & Microsoft Azure

Building and modernizing business applications with a longstanding engineering background in the Microsoft technology ecosystem.

    Software Modernization

Improving legacy applications, fragile architectures, disconnected systems, and software that has become expensive to change.

    Operational Software

Designing software for supply chain, warehousing, healthcare, clinical operations, insurance, oil and gas, and other workflow-heavy environments.

    Product & Engineering Execution

Turning business problems into software products, internal platforms, integrations, automation, and practical delivery plans.

    How I think about software

Software becomes part of the operating responsibility of the business.

A system has to do more than satisfy today's feature list. Engineers need to understand it later, operators need to see what it is doing, leaders need evidence that important behavior still works, and the architecture has to absorb years of change without turning every improvement into a high-risk event.

AI increases the amount of software teams can create. That makes engineering judgment, testing, architecture, permissions, observability, and long-term stewardship more important because businesses can now accumulate software faster than they accumulate understanding of it.

That perspective shapes both Dream Beyond's client work and the research I publish on software longevity, AI assurance, and agent authority.
